How long has your business been operating, and who are your customers?
Grampians Wellbeing has been operating since 2018 and services yoga students and reiki and wellbeing clients in Stawell and surrounding areas as well as having an online community.
What services do you offer, and which is the most popular?
I offer yoga, reiki and wellbeing services. My business was founded on yoga but over the years, I’ve added additional holistic services. I am lucky that I have a good mix of students and clients spread across yoga classes and events, private yoga, reiki and wellbeing sessions.
How does Grampians Wellbeing benefit the community?
More and more, people are realising how important their health is – not only physically but also mentally and energetically. I help my students and clients feel better in their bodies and calmer in their lives and this has a flow on effect to everyone they come into contact with – their families, friends, colleagues and acquaintances. Positive energy is just as contagious as negative energy and I’m hoping to get all the positive energy out there that I can!
What is your favourite yoga pose?
Even though there are loads of fancy yoga poses to choose from, my favourite are actually two basic poses that anyone can do – Cat Cow Pose (aka Up Cat/Down Cat). I love the way these poses make me feel, they are magic for our spine and are so versatile. They can be done standing, seated, laying, on all fours and can also be incorporated into other poses. So much bang for buck!
What is your top tip to those out there who are yet to start their well-being journey?
The most important thing is to make time for yourself. We are often guilty of putting others’ needs ahead of our own but we are better partners/mums/daughter/employees etc when we are fulfilled and taking care of ourselves. Start small – you don’t have to change your life overnight! My top tip is to put your self care in your diary and treat it as an important appointment (because it is!). Would you move or miss an important appointment with anyone else? The answer to that is likely no, so why should you move or miss an appointment with yourself?
How would you like to grow in the future?
I am on a wellbeing journey as much as my students and am constantly learning, evolving and expanding my services and offerings … and enjoying every step of the way 🙂
